Parking on longmoor road - back entrance to liphook infant/primary schools
- WOO (21st Nov 2014 - 08:12:46)
Why can`t drivers be a bit more considerate in parking in the layby by the back entrance to the infant/primary schools. 9 times out of 10 there is a car parked with its back end sticking out - so dangerous especially now that its dark early.

Back end sticking out? - it's either Kim Kardashian or a driver practicing their twerking

So we have had all the moaning about The Avenue side and now we start on Longmoor Road!!! There needs to be some acceptance that we have schools in the village so there is going to cause disruption and inconvenience for a half hour or so each morning and afternoon. Its inevitable and yellow lines, parking restrictions, traffic wardens etc will not change this.
People will park inconsiderately and there will be some locals who object disproportionally so maybe we just need a bit more tolerance and consideration on both sides

Personally, I think most could walk to the school and think a car share scheme should be set up on bad weather days. This should also apply to Bohunt School to reduce traffic issues and road rage at peak times. Matters will get far worse when all the new houses are built so this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Jp,
I would agree with you, but we live at the Giggs Green end of the village, I WILL NOT let my daughters' walk to school due to the following:
1. The speed the traffic comes up the Longmoor Road
2. They have to cross the road on a corner on a blind bend
3. They have to walk through dark woods as there are NO street lights
along this road.
I do not mollycoddle my girls but it's for there own safety & would let them walk to school but for the above points
