I just thought it would be good to put up a positive post. This morning I had to get up very early to get my daughter to Heathrow. When I got back the post had been and I had a note to say I had a parcel that needed signing for. I was trying to work out when I could go and pick up the parcel after leaving the requisite 3 hour gap and whether the sorting office would have closed for the day. It was beginning to get complicated and I was just thinking that there would probably not be another opportunity until the weekend. There was a ring at the doorbell and our wonderful post lady (I'm ashamed I don't know her name but she's been our regular post person for the past ten years) was standing there with said parcel - she had seen the car was back and thought she would save us the bother of having to go to the sorting office. She is always cheerful even when the weather isn't and often does these thoughtful things. It got me thinking that there are many unsung heroes out there in the locality and whether there could be a way of giving them a mention to show we appreciate what they do.

I too have a wonderful post lady. Her name is Caroline. A while ago I had a parcel that she didn't bring to the house as I am usually not at home first thing when she calls with parcels. I had to stay in for a workman that day and I didn't make it to the sorting office before they shut at lunch time. She went out of her way and brought it to my home after her shift on her way home. Now that's what I call service. Thank you

I suspect your post lady is Barbara (if she has dark hair and glasses), I don't know her surname. When my husband and I were both commuting up to London every day and she had a parcel for us she would go out of her way to get to our house (off the Portsmouth Rd) before we left for the station, a remarkable and efficient service. Since moving elsewhere in Liphook we have had a succession of postpersons, all very nice in their own way, but none has lived up to Barbara's performance.

It must be the day for postman stories. I have been expecting a parcel in the post which was posted last week. When it didn't arrive this morning I was prepared to phone the company I had ordered from, for a battle. A while after the post had been delivered there was a ring at the door - and Mick our terrific postmen was there with my parcel. He said it had just arrived so he did a late delivery. Just one more instance of his helpfulness. We in Liphook are obviously very lucky with our post peopole. Thank you Mick.
