New Bus timetable
- Dawn Hoskins (18th May 2009 - 14:19:23)
Here is the new No:13 bus timetable - which replaces the SWT bus link.
www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables/..
Mon - Fri - From Passfield busses leave 6:24; 6:59; 7:42 and 9:20am. These are times to coordinate with the trains. Sadly that means that anyone wanting to go to school on the bus will have to arrive an hour early - but it is an improvement on it taking 45 minutes! Poor Lindford is not served at all.
Coming home (Mon to Fri) the last bus is 6:40 pm so late nighters will have to park instead of bus (or fork out for the taxi)!
On Saturdays there are about 5 buses to get to liphook between 7:45am - 5:45pm, but coming home the last bus is 6:15pm, so late nighters will have to drive / taxi.
Overall, the County Council have done well in stepping up to the mark with such short notice and such short funds.
All I need to do now is find out how much the fare is!
Also, please remember that this service is a temporary (6 month) provision. If it is not used - we will lose it!
Update 1
Have now spoken to Stagecoach re: ticket prices. I have got them from Passfield to Liphook but just call them if you want different ones on: 0845 121 0190.
What I didn’t check is whether that is the price to the Anchor or the Station?
Child single 80p, Child return £1.35 Adult single £1.20 , Adult return £2.00
You cannot buy a return ticket before 9am. So, that is cheaper for the children and the adults alike as it used to be a flat rate £2 which ever way you went. You may be able to get cheaper weekly tickets? Good news all round!!
Update 2
www.stagecoachbus.com/uploads/..
Here is the link for the children’s proof of age card (called discount ID). It is free. If they are challenged about their age and do not have ID they may have to pay the adult price. – so it is wise to get one if you have children under 16. Just need a photo then you take it to the school and get them to stamp the form before you post it. Simple.

Re: New Bus timetable

Thanks for all the info and promotion of this replacement service. I am delighted the timetable will now get the kids to school and back again.
To justify keeping the service why can't they not extend the service to pick up from the 7.11pm arrival from London Waterloo. This is without doubt the busiest train back from London in the evening and without a connection the 13 bus is of no use to us in the morning as we would be stranded thus leaving us commuters the car/bike as the only option.

I believe that because SWT has withdrawn the trainlink service, the bus now is the extended timetable for the 13 existing service and nothing now to link it to the trains. As Dawn says if we dont use the bus Hampshire County Council will not fund the extra timetable, although we can look forward to the time when they will be putting their rural buses, into operation, linking Petersfield liphook and Alton. They have not finalised this yet.
