Government decisions
- Allan@the black foxinn (30th Apr 2009 - 00:20:23)
Back pedal on legislation on expenses, (full disclosure imminent) Hot and sticky about to hit the fan on that. Should be entertaining, to say the least.
The twattish announcement last week on the rights of residence of Ghurka service personell were an affront.
I understand that the Gov has reviewed that and performed a deftish u-turn on the decision, explained by a smiling Prime Minister as new legislation which will allow all Gurkas who qualify under the "new rules" to stay here. Ye gods, if it wasn't so serious, it would be funny.
Plot lost?
Long time ago!

It would be funny if the other lot that will replace them next year were likely to be any better.

Any political party led by Joanna Lumley would get my vote.
Her oratory and her reasoned defence of the residential rights of Gurkhas showed a measure of integrity and compassion rarely found in Westminster.
If more Members of Parliament, including Cabinet Ministers, applied themselves with the same fervour to matters beyond their own financial well being then maybe, just maybe, we might get a Government we could place our trust in.

Don't you always find those who are more personally connected will fight that bit harder? I wonder if Joanna would have had the same view if father had not been in the army and in lead of Gurkhas?. That aside I think the ruling that they should be allowed rights is totally and utterly correct. They have pledged their life for us and we should honour their wish to stay on British soil.

Come on lets unite, and rid ourselves, next June of these low lifes who have stood by an ruined this once fine country.
We reward sroungers, we welcome every piece of scum that wants to live here, but us nothing, we just pay taxes, so why should they care about us.
The place is full of cctv cameras, so they can watch our every move.
They tell us how to bring our kids up, look what that has led to, no control whatsoever!
Those Political Correct ***s, why do we put up with these faceless idiots, what good have they done, they just come up with c--p.
Lets face it, all politicians are, two faced, thieving swindlers, who are in it for what they can get out of it.
God help our kids

I seem to remember from my schools days that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Those who have had such sway on our lives, politicians, bankers and Local Authorities seem to have collectively and with some sort of devilish co-ordinated timing delivered an overwhelming wave of misery, corruption, self-interest and incompetance that has shatter many of the beliefs of people who still hope that the UK is good place in which to live and raise a family.
What has happened in the corridors of power that once held our trust and support. I know of no one who does not believe that all MPs are exploiting the expenses system, that bankers took their money but did not make the right decisions and that Local Authoritiesd just want to spend, spend, spend because they do not have to work for their money. What is the alternative?
