Yes, I saw them last week and this week too - I think they were doing a survey on the zebra crossing by the Hungry Horse this week. Maybe someone has woken up to the fact that the zebra crossing is too close to the roundabout!

Local council employees or a traffic survey on behalf of developers?

Council did not know who these people were, but thought they might be from one of the possible developers.
Well at least someone is looking, and will see it's not good news.

I stopped and asked one of them and they said they were surveying the traffic flows and how many pedestrians were using the crossings.
When I asked who for, he told me he did not know but thought it was for one of the developments.

I too have noticed the yellow jacket people and yesterday I spoke to one of them on the corner of Midhurst Road and Haslemere Road.
He said that his job was at five minute intervals, to count the number of vehicles in the queue on Haslemere Road waiting to enter the Square. This was at 8.30 in the morning.
He said he did not know who had commissioned the survey but felt sure it was not the Council but was probably a developer. He also added that in his experience he had never seen traffic as bad as this

If that's the case Paul and a developer did commission the survey then that will be one report that will never see the light of day?

I suspect that this relates to the proposed Lowsley Farm development and the suggested 'improvements' to the mini roundabouts in the square, particuarly to the entry from Longmoor Rd.
I think that HCC have probably requested an up to date traffic survey before making their own assesment of the viability of any proposed modifications in their formal advice to EHDC on the current application.

I saw a device very close to the road, that was recording data of some type, outside Keats and Carlas..... Know it was defiantly there as was stuck in traffic and saw it.

Steven, you definitely were not seeing things - I saw that device on my way home from work one evening!! I think it was a counter for cars etc.

I think the guy who hadn't seen traffic "as bad as this" probably doesn't travel much!
