Both myself and my daughter had a really bad experience at this dental surgery.
I would not recommend it.

What is going on with the amount of negativity on this site currently? Is it the weather that is making everyone so moany?!
Quite simply, this post was regarding a business offering it's services, and does not necessitate negative feedback Vivienne.
My friends and family all use this dental practice, and have not experienced any problems - the surgery is clean, tidy and well run.
5 stars, well done Vicarage Lane!

Sarah,
I am really pleased you had a good experience however it cost us a lot to put right the mess they made of my daughters teeth.
I think it is important to give people the feedback and let them decide!
Did not realise this would have upset anyone.

I think it is fairly important that we should be able to post feedback about services here. There was one particular dentist that I used to go to in Liphook (around 35 years ago I should add) who seemed to find much more wrong with my teeth than any other dentist that I've been to. I realise now that it was probably just a way for him to make more money from the NHS by carrying out fillings that weren't strictly necessary.
Thanks to this dentist, I had to have a fair bit of extra work done later in life to maintain these fillings. If a local forum had been around in those days, we might have been more aware of what was going on rather than just accepting that the dentist knew best.

Sarah, what gives you or anyone for that matter the right to criticise other people's rights to place their opinions and experiences on this site. Constructive comments and input are good, personal and derogatory ones are bad. As far as I am aware this is still a country where we have freedom of speech and if Vivienne's daughter had a bad experience with this dentist she has every right to say so. In addition I think it is very important that if poor service in whatever capacity is received, it should be placed in the public domain. It is then up to the individual to make up his or her mind.

I do think that if a business seeks to use this forum for a bit of free advertising then it is fair and proper that they will are subject to opinion and feedback, both positive and negative. If you choose to put your business in the firing line of public opinion then..........

What was I saying about moaning residents?
Businesses are looking to provide a service - not be pulled apart so to speak.
Isn't there an NHS website for comments and concerns?
My point is that with the current shortage of NHS services, perhaps genuine advertising for a local NHS dentist accepting patients should not be so negatively received and people with their negativity should allow others to make up their own minds.
Just because one has had a bad experience somewhere, does not mean they should put off others.
Period.

Sarah, you really are missing the point, this is a discussion forum, the name Talkback gives it away really. It is not an advertising notice board so contributors are free to make their observations about any subject for good or bad. If they really wanted to advertise their business on this site they could have paid for an advert similar to those on the side panel, then there would be no worry of any comments Period!
