Door to Door Canvassing - Battersea
- Tracy (13th Sep 2014 - 16:16:27)

Hi
Could anyone advise me as to wether they have had a house visit from Canvassers within The Mead, Tower Road & surrounding areas who are collecting donations or asking for new clients to subscribe payments by Direct Debit for Battersea Dogs home.
My Sister in Law had a visit last Tuesday from a person who insisted that she agree to 12 x £8 donations by Direct Debit, she offered a cheque for £20 but this was declined.
We are wondering if these canvassers are legitimate or fraudsters. If anyone can help me with any info I would greatly appreciate this.

We had a visit this week on Hill House Hill. We talked through the gate and I sent him on his way. He didn't seem entirely convincing. Think he said his name was Chris.

Yes we had a visit in Passfield . Friendly chap , not overly pushy , made a fuss of our dog , had a lovely chat about dogs in general & then he left as we already donate to an animal charity .

We had them in The Maltings on Thursday. We already donate to Battersea on a monthly basis having re-homed a battersea dog years ago and so the girl just asked about the dog and her history and then left after a short chat. The girl that came to us wasn't pushy though and seemed friendly enough. Perhaps contacting Battersea directly to verify the caller's authenticity might be a good idea, or check on their website to see if that is any help.
