Christmas Black tie events

Hi,
I'm looking at booking a Xmas night out but wondered if anyone has been to the Xmas events at Old Thorns? Or any recommendations for any other venues?

I have been once and I found it too noisy for me, but you might think differently depending on what you are looking for. Did not think the food was very good either.
