Very admirable, but why do we pay Council Tax then?

I will try to make some signs that don't fall apart when I hit them with a hammer.

Just sticks left in the ground at the mo!

I know we pay our taxes, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do something about the rubbish. In an ideal world - the litter pickers would come on a regular basis and clean out the hedgerows - in an even better one - people wouldn't throw it out of the car window or fly tip in the first place.

Until then, organised litter picking is a good idea, it binds the community and gives you a feeling of wellbeing (after you have washed off the dirt!).

No, we paid our taxes for someone else to do it. Why pay for something, then do it yourself?

I expect people will have to provide their own street-lighting next.

[editor - real names from now on please]

Eh??

Editor - are you saying one of the posters is NOT using their real name??

I know two are - so what is the 'real name' of poster.

We all have to put down ours - at costs to greater things at times!

What a wonderful community action. I have occasionally seen people doing this in Passfield - now I know it is a community project - well done.

Would you like some heavy duty Black Bags for the rubbish?

That would be lovely

Thank you Liphook Hardware

Hi

How many bags do you require - and can someone come and collect them on Sunday am? We are open from 10 - 1pm Sunday?

We can drop some off at Passfield stores on the way to Liphook about 9.00 if it is open. If you need more, than we are open from 10am - 1pm.

Wow, what a fantastic turn out! Thank you Lorraine for organising another successful litter pick – and to all the volunteers who gave up their time.

An unbelievable amount of rubbish was collected from the road sides (but further in than the verge immediately next to the road). Mainly empty plastic bags, drink bottles and cans, sandwich wrappings and hub caps etc, although a few strange items such as lamp shades, traffic cones and unbelievably a lot of council road signs which had been abandoned and blown into the verges.

There is now a huge pile of filled up black bin liners next to the Passfield Store and we shall await its removal…

Thank you again to everyone,

Well done to the Litter Pickers. Who have you contacted about removal of litter? If no help is forthcoming I will help take the bags to the dump.

A very good turn out by all and it was nice to see children involved a good Job Done.
And many thanks to Liphook Hardware for supplying the bags.

P.S.
The council have just collected the mountain.

Just noticed that some t*sser has dumped approx 4 black binliners full of rubbish down the Hollywater Road - foxes have already been in it.

What is the matter with people?
