Trees vandalized at Radford Park
- zoe (7th Aug 2014 - 19:46:13)

Please could children playing over Radford Park not vandalize the trees. (Malthouse Meadows end near boggy path, not double pond end.)
2-2:30pm this afternoon I heard children playing over Radford park from my garden. I thought they where in the wooded area playing . They usually play in river and on tree swing.
6:15pm I took my dogs for a walk to find the path dug up and a tree vandalized.
There was no reason to swing on a helpless tree till you break the branches off.
The poor tree is now blocking the path. A hole and ramp you have dug is a danger for anyone walking in the dark or on a bike.
In the Last few weeks you have also ripped the bark off another poor tree .

Have some respect for nature. You maybe bored and on your holidays but do not take it out on the trees and paths over Radford park.

I have played over Radford as child I would never vandalize a tree. I have climbed trees at some point and played on a tree swing or two.
This is expected. But vandalism on a tree is not on.

I am not elderly. I am a concerned resident .I am going to be keeping an eye on this area for more vandalism.
I have sent photographs to the parish council asking the park wardens to help the tree.
Other walkers have moved the branches from the path. We are not sure if we are allowed to cut the branches to help the tree. So I have reported for the wardens to sort out.

I saw the poor tree too, breaks my heart that anyone would do this.

It is shocking to hear that people would treat trees in this way.

I really hope that someone will be able to help the poor tree. It must be in terrible pain with a branch in a broken condition like this - let's hope the council can grant permission to humanely chop the branch that has been injured.
