Welcome to Liphook Packs
- A3 Sports (25th Mar 2009 - 12:11:32)

My name is Ashley Thomson and I am currently undertaking my work experience from Bohunt School.

With A3 Sports I am putting together an information pack for people who have just moved into the area. I hope that this will include the Community Magazine, a map, and information from local businesses and childrens or voluntary groups. Many local estate agents have already agreed to pass them onto people who have just bought or rented in Liphook.

If you would like your business to be included in this free service, maybe with a flyer, prospectus or vouchers please contact me directly at A3 Sports on 01428 727173. I am hoping that the packs will be ready in approximately one week.

Thank you for your time

Ashley Thomson

Hi Ashley,

Congratulations on the idea and good luck with it! It seems to me a very timely exercise and I hope that businesses and organisations will get in touch with you with information about what they can offer any new resident.

I will send you details about BLACS which is the Bramshott & Liphook Art & Crafts Society. I joined them when I moved to Liphook three years ago and it's been a wonderful way to make new friends and meet some great people. I've also found the WI a very welcoming group of people so please don't forget them!

Given the number of posts on this site about raising awareness of local businesses amongst the community and the wish to encourage residents to shop locally, I think this is a great opportunity to promote what's on offer.

Perhaps businesses can offer a "welcome to Liphook" discount (or something like that) to any new residents...? Or perhaps a loyalty card...? Actions speak louder than words!

Well done again, and I hope you get top grades for your project!

Sumi

Hi Ashley

Might be worthwhile letting us know how large the flyers need to be (A4 or A5) and how many you would need for the first batch.

Hi
Just spoken to Ashley, sounds like a very forward thinker. Good luck to him, going to give the flyers to him for tomorrow.

Keep up the good work

A4 and A5 are both ok and we are looking for about 100 or so to start. We are especially keen on vouchers and discounts for new residents to make the packs extra appealing.

We have been overwhelmed already in the couple of hours since my original posting. It's great to see the businesses of Liphook showing such enthusiasm.

I think it's an excellent idea Ashley and very useful for new residents...I'm just wondering how many people are actually buying houses in Liphook in the current climate?

But well done anyway :)

Just a bit worried that you are incurring espenses and giving these out for free.

Ashley
When we moved to Liphook 10 years ago, I remember being given an A5 booklet - probably by the estate agent (can't remember) which I think was published by the Liphook Marketing Forum (or some such name - don't know if that body still exists?). It was pale green/cream with leaves on it ... I have just hunted around for it but I think I eventually recycled it as so many of the phone numbers had got out of date. It was indexed into village businesses and services with advertising support (I think). Very handy for a newby at the time...
Wish you luck with the project.

Thank you to everybody who has shown such an interest in this project and to all those who have donated flyers and leaflets. The response has been overwhelming.

Just to let you, know if you still have leaflets / flyers / vouchers to donate, the deadline is tomorrow (friday 3rd) 11am.

Many thanks

The Welcome to Liphook Packs are now completed and have been distributed to all Liphook estate agents, They are bursting with really useful information and I'd like to thank everyone who has contributed information or offered support. Should you wish to see a pack then please do not hesitate to call on us in A3 Sports where we have a sample available.

I would like to personally extend my thanks and gratitude to Ashley who has worked very hard in completing this project and making it such a success.

Beth
