FAO Barbara 'e' - Sue W (23rd Mar 2009 - 20:51:26) This site clearly states for those who live in the community, and with Businesses here. -I think I qualify in that respect. You seem to have a personal grudge with me? Perhaps it is because I have been involved within Liphook Community for over the past 12 years both working for other Business and our own!! I can’t help but be concerned - particularly as my own Son only lives yards away from this incident. I would hate it to have been me in this situation. Can no concerned parent make comments here? I never said I was not posting on this site again – just in connection with plight of Businesses. I do not work regularly in the shop, but do from time to time and do all the admin and bill paying, ordering of certain lines, and standing in a Village hall to promote the shop - in my mind that is still working for a Business in Liphook. I had 2 days off from my part-time job and spent the whole time arranging, purchasing, travelling to collect from a warehouse, a significant order - which we believe came from this site - so I do have a place to post here. Without my commitment, drive and support there would be NO Hardware store – or at least not one run by our family! Sorry that you feel I am letting down my Husbands customers. Comments that others make will I am sure have consequences to those organisations that they seek help in from Businesses like our and indeed ours- we make the decisions between us – but I hold the purse strings and will release to which Liphook charity gets help or not. – We have always supported the Carnival, the bloomers - until last year for a very obvious reason, we have offered financial help to Bohunt, supported a youth football team with shirts and far too many organisations with raffle. If you feel that I have no right to express and am not connected, then those considerations that I spoke of will just have to come into play. For the record - Trevor hates me posting- as everyone comes in telling him what I say. It causes very bad feelings at home– but he also acknowledges that I have a right to express my opinions. – So please people if you must make comments and not tittle tattle behind my back phone me on 07920205651 He has read through all the last 2 weeks posts, and quite honestly thought I stuck up for myself and the Business admirably. I am lucky that I am very involved with the Hardware - and keep my finger on the pulse. It is after all our livelihood. Perhaps instead of scoring points against me - you could be more supportive and lead the way for the council to address the empty shops/bad appeal, uncooperative landlords, high rates/rents etc. I was very surprised to find out how much control/power the Parish Council now has – and you would do well to find out too. We all know that Liphook over the past 15 years has lost many shops and services – why do think it so, when over the same period the growth in housing has been significantly increased? We spend our hard earned money within Liphook shops and use as many local people as possible, roofers, builders, electricians, painters/decorators - perhaps I have too many feelings about making Liphook better - obviously my loyalty is badly misplaced. Its funny, on here you wont see support - but people rather speak directly their support - why do you think that is? Even council members are included in it!! It is such a tiny minority of the community that post as you do - so I wont hold it the entire opinion of Liphook If the Editor feels that I have no place to post here - he can always refuse. Now, please lets move on with working together and perhaps the power of some very opinionated people just may make a difference! Sue
