As part of the Whitehill Safer Neighbourhoods team I would like to welcome local residents to meet Chief Inspector Phil Kedge, myself (pcso Pete Tedder) and Street Watch members in Sainsburys supermarket on Midhurst road today at 14:00hrs. This will be a chance to find out more about your local Street Watch team. We will also have application forms should you wish to join.

Any chance you could do another one at the weekend as work got in the way yesterday. I expect the turnout was poor because of the notice given and timing.
I am keen to understand and learn more about your role and Street Watch in general as I have an opinion that the wrong people are targetted, at the wrong places at the wrong time. I am keen to have that perception corrected - and I am very happy to help out and don a flourescent vest !

Chief Inspector Kedge and I had a very positve response yesterday at Sainsburys. we had the help of one of Liphooks dedicated Street Watch members and we signed up six new members to the Liphook Street Watch.
The meeting was decided at very short notice hence the late posting on talkback. I will be holding another meeting / beat surgery in Sainsburys on Saturday 04/04/09 between 12:00hrs and 13:00hrs.
Should you wish to understand more about the PCSO (police community support officer) role or the role of a Street Watch member I would be more than happy to meet you prior to the beat surgery. This method of contact for me is open to any resident that would like to speak with a local officer about any local issues or for advice.
