Door knockers. - Dawn Hoskins (28th Jun 2014 - 10:12:05) In Passfield we have had a rather strange looking man, door knocking. He says he is from Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice? I called the Phyllis Tuckwell organisation and they didn't know anything about him, but said there may be a separate 'lottery' company doing door knocking. http://www.pth.org.uk I send the bloke on his way as I thought his ID looked tatty and home made, and also because I don't like door-knockers........I was almost hoping he would get chased down the road by next doors'dog (he didn't). If I get a call back from them, I will update on whether he was a genuine (but odd looking) chap or a ne'er do well.

My wife answered the door and I was inclined to send him away but she signed up to make a monthly donation. The paperwork and website appear genuine and are headed Tuckwell Chase Lottery. www.tclottery.org.uk It's also listed on the Hospital Lotteries Association website. www.hospicelotteries.org.uk/members/... So I think we can trust it, though I shall be watching our bank account! As to the fellow's appearance, there may be little he can do about that.
