Bohunt School Wildlife Pond
- Jo Cooper (8th Mar 2009 - 12:29:24)

Bohunt School has started a project to create a wildlife pond and study area in its grounds. The project is being led by one of the school's science teachers. The aim is to produce several different microclimates which can then be used to back up pupils' science learning in school. We are also hoping to develop the whole area to encourage birds and other wildlife, and possibly to create a sensory garden.

We would very much like to source our materials and expertise locally, and to involve local community groups in this project. Building mnaterials (fencing, pond liner, cement), plants, advice and a small amount of money will be needed.

We would welcome any suggestions of local companies, associations or individuals we could approach.

Jo Cooper
Bohunt Governor

Pic a Lily are a good local company; good work, very reasonably priced. We and our neighbours have had them do a number of medium size clearance and landscaping jobs.

Many thanks for the and kind offers. We are making good progress.

Dawn, we are hoping to organise a working party of parents sometime in May, possibly with barbecue. If you are a member of the Parent Support Group you will receive an e-mail direct about this, otherwise keep an eye on the School Newsletters. Hope to see you there.

Jo
