Staff Increase at the Parish Council
- Kat (5th Jun 2014 - 14:06:57)

Now we know why our Council Tax was increased so much!!!. I am astounded that the Parish Council did not announce this earlier but instead decided it all behind closed doors in one of their many secret meetings. They then published some limp statement on their website which I actually found by mistake. We the public have found out through advertisements and reports in the local papers. My friend was thinking of applying for the LMC officer job but their is no advert. Probably been filled by one of their cronies. They were going to make people redundant a couple of years ago! The arrogance of our local councillors is unbelievable. They seem to be happy to squander our money without a care in the world, and without any explanation.

Yes, they also squander money on "flashing speed signs" which no one can now find.........On second thoughts maybe a new member of staff will be allocated to find them.

like everyone else i to agree they are wasting OUR money on new staff when mr groves did all this work on his own they would be better spending money on repairs to the millennium centre if you do your sums we are talking of nearly £70 thousand a year that we will end up paying

Yes, bring back Mr Groves. We were never told if he was dismissed or did he resign. The Parish Council was a much more efficient organisation under his stewardship. He helped local groups and was respected by residents.

Could someone please clarify who is this extra member of staff and exactly what is his/her role at the Parish Office.

Look on the Parish Council website and it tells you what the new jobs are. Don't know what the Clerk is going to do. Clipboard manage everybody and not get his hands dirty and get paid lots. Perhaps he will be responsible for the flashing speed signs. Interesting to know who is responsible at present and why so much money has been wasted, excluding the money we have all had to pay to keep them running when they haven't been if you know what I mean.

i to think its wrong that first of all they can make two members of staff at l.m.c redunt by putting a few new words in contracts thease people have given many years of loyal service to the parish council what will the new parish clerk be doing once thease new roles are tacken up ? were is all the money coming from ? will we get any answers ? dont hold your breath
