Hindhead Tunnel

Hi
Does anybody know why there seems to be constant work on the tunnel in the evening.
I finished work late on Tuesday and was held at the tunnel why they closed the north bound tunnel.
There seems to be stuff happening all the time. Is it about to fall down? Should I buy a hard hat? Or shall I get a canary and watch it closely whilst I drive through?

Apparently it's to do with maintenance of the jet fans. I googled 'Hindhead Tunnel Maintenance 2014' if that helps.
