1.7million to EHDC from Bramshott Place Dev.
- Sue W (19th Feb 2009 - 21:39:41)

Just read this article on the Local news page, and wondered how many Low cost housing etc would be planned for Liphook from the 1.7 Million EHDC have been given from the developers at Bramshott Place?

I make it 28 if you divide £1.7m by £60,000 (assuming it costs £60,000 on average to build a low cost house).
Once again a debt of gratitude must go to Helical Bar for their forthright generosity and community spirit and to Liphook.co.uk for giving them more advertising space disguised as news.

I did rough sums too, but as far as I can see - these houses could be built anywhere in the EHDC area.(they say 50 homes)

The question is how many are planned for LIPHOOK?

No-one hands over £1.7m unless some return on the investment has been calculated in someone's scheming mind. Watch out for new planning applications in controversial areas that miraculously get the go ahead.
Still intrigued as to why this "transaction" is classified as news. Editor, do you know?

[editor - err because it is news? And because I'm sure you all would want to know that EHDC have 1.7m that they will try to hide from us]

As per Chris' comment. How did they manage to get planning applications put through to build those ugly house in the lovely grounds of Chiltlee Manor?

May be worth noting the same developers (Peak Housing) also built the Peak Centre as a sweetener.

Even more recently didnt Sainsburys have a massive financial hand in building the Millenium Hall? Kind of paves the way for any future developments/improvements made to the store (some of which have already happened)
