No more Internet Explorer
- Alex Cameron (28th Jun 2004 - 10:26:28)

If, you're tired of things like this:
BBC - Web browser flaw prompts warning (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3840101.stm)

...you don't have to use Internet Explorer to browse the internet. For those that don't know, there are alternatives you can use to keep your computer safe and have a better experience in general when browsing the web.

Not sure what everyone else is using but i personally swap between:

Opera 7.51 (www.opera.com)
Mozilla 1.7 (www.mozilla.org)

and the king:
Mozilla Firefox (www.mozilla.org/products/firefox)

go the whole hog and get rid of Microsoft!
Install Linux

I couldn't agree more about Linux - for the seasoned XP user i'd recommend the excellent Mandrake 10 (www.mandrake.com) or my dad's favourite, PCLinuxOS (http://www.pclinuxonline.com/pclos/). And lets kill the desktop argument right here - its KDE 3 all the way.

I reckon we should start a 'Why and how to switch to linux' thread.
