Dog boarders/kennel recommendations
- JT (6th May 2014 - 12:40:16)
Hi there, was just wondering if anyone could recommend a family that looks after dogs in their home or any good dog kennels?
Many thanks

I can personally recommend Frensham Pond Kennels. We have used them on a number of occasions for our dog for the past 3 years. They are the average daily price of other kennels around here, and it is in a nice rural area, well kept, with fenced open grassed runs for the dogs to run around in outside in the fresh air.
They have opening times where you can just turn up and have a look around and a chat, without obligation. When I first went to look, I saw a chart on the wall in one of the dog kennel buildings that listed the names of the dogs on holiday there, what time they had their last run out and when the next was due, so you know they are not couped up all day. They have drinking water in a bowl that is fed by a top-up unit (like in a budgies cage, but bigger!) so you know they won't just run out of water. They have plastic moulded beds to sleep in, with shredded newspaper so they are easier to clean. You can provide your own pet food if you prefer, or if your pet has a special diet, with a small discount to their usual price.
One of the things that gave me confidence was that they insist on seeing a pets vaccination card from your Vet, to make sure all animals are up to date with their injections, and must include 'kennel cough', or a pet cannot stay.
If we go on holiday with family, as is often the case, our dog shares with another family pet and they discount for that too. Our dogs always go in without any hesitation, so we know they feel fine about staying there.
Here is the web site so you can take a look and read all about it, maybe go along and view. We have always found the owners and staff very helpful, friendly and caring. http://www.fpkennels.com/
