unusual for the anchor to be slow and cold eat there on a regular basis always piping hot and quick 30 min max wait when Busy!

Did you speak to the anchor as I dont think they post on here so they will not see your comment?

as to lack of food sounds like a delivery did not arrive
the staff ate normally very friendly if you have a complaint and speak to them in a pleasant manner they try to help
When they are busy they are very busy and work hard
hope its just a one off bad day

I ate at the Anchor last week and had the first 'bad' meal since we moved to Liphook 4 years ago. I didn't see Petra the landlady so I asked at the bar and was told she has moved on. Such a shame as she used to run the pub superbly. Lets hope it picks up again quickly.

- Anchor staff (7th May 2014 - 00:43:00)

Unfortunatly Jez and pet have gone and nobody to replace them.. So we are without a manager and three full time members of staff down... Staff morale is at an all time low atm as we have not got the staff to keep up with the huge amount of customers we have!! Hopefully will get better. But am telling u honestly the staff that are left are struggling and most want to leave!! It\\\'s a sad state but not our faults...

Whilst I totally sympathise with the remaining Anchor staff team, I'm not too sure this thread is the most appropriate place to vent their worries. Take them to higher management, explain to them you are at breaking point.

Have you advertised for waiting and bar staff?

It doesn't take long to get a bad reputation and that is then hard to shake off!

- Anchor staff (7th May 2014 - 17:24:36)

In relation to not the thread to vent.. Am not venting just explaining to people why it is not so good anymore!!
There is nobody higher to vent to atm as our area manager is at the anchor training..
Yes we have advertised but the newbies are not qualified to know the job straight away and work at a pace of the staff that we lost!!
Totally understand the rep is going down and it breaks my heart!
But we physically cannot do anymore than what we are!!

Re: The anchor
- Angie (8th May 2014 - 19:17:54)

I visit the Anchor once a week and one of the reasons is because the staff are so nice and polite
It's tough for them at the moment due to major changes and staff shortage
I for one will support this establishment during this challenging time and I'm sure that things will improve as the staffing levels go up
All the staff work extremely hard and it's much appreciated
Also the food is good value for money
Keep going guys and girls

They've had the odd disappointing day since the previous managers have left, but with no managers to take over, it's not surprising... In fact it's impressive how well they're doing considering that fact. They work hard, with so many key members down and new members with very little experience in their place I think they're doing fantastically. We should be supporting them, they are such a friendly, hard working bunch!

Re: The anchor
- Janet (18th May 2014 - 19:12:48)

Well, it can't be that bad. They don't appear to be losing any customers, if last Monday is anything to go by - it was packed to the rafters!
