Liven up your dog walk...
- Zoe (28th Apr 2014 - 09:15:43)

Anyone else get bored with taking the dog for a walk?

Have you a camera , then dust it off and have some fun while out with the dogs. children will find this fun as well. a good bit of exploring to keep them out of mischief and it costs nothing.

This time of year and all through out, the local parks and commons are changing with the seasons.

Yesterday after all the rain and the thunder and lightning I was out over Radford with my camera. You can get some great macro shots of the flowers starting to bloom. after the rain you can capture some great abstracts with raindrops in the grass, on the leaves and flowers.

Point your camera at the river see what abstracts you can make with the trees shadows in the river.

This am I was in the wooded area capturing the bark on the trees. the trees where soaking wet after the rain and made all the different colours of the bark stand out causing natural abstracts.

The birds are about and about. I have seen sparrow hawks, grey Herons, Great white egret , usual smaller birds you find in the garden. The ducks have babies and can be found swimming on the pond.

loads of squirrels watching you in the trees. I have even seen deer roaming about .

I have some great motion shots of the dogs diving in the river making a big splash or just having a swim.

Walking the dog does not have to be boring. I get the dogs involved . I get them looking for things in the woods. they bark when they find something they like. I photograph it. they run and find something else. keeps them out of mischief.

Check out my photography page here for some ideas www.ephotozine.com/user/mototaur-220762

This website could do with a photography page so people can add their findings.

Having taken some photographes why don't you enter them in the Calender Competition for 2015. Sarah and Rob should can give you further information at the Art Shop Headley Road.

The photographic Competition for 2014 was excellent and good photographs used - also two local charities benefited from the sale of the Calenders Liphook Day Centre and Dreams Come True.

There were also prizes for the best pictures chosen so good luck if you enter.
