Does any know of any good ponds around Liphook where tadpoles might be. It's for school project.

There are usually loads in the top pond at Radford. Please remember to take sufficient water from wherever they are and return to the same place for release.

There are plenty in the Queen Elizabeth Country Park if that is not too far.
Good luck Fred

How many do you need? I have a frog pond in my garden with quite a few tadpoles (not as many as last year!) I am sure you can have some.

Aren't all UK amphibians protected by law? should you not have permission to handle them?

Hi Bush
Species such as Natterjacks are protected. See 'Frog Life' web page www.froglife.org/...
I don't think there is a primary school in the land that doesn't load up with common frog spawn as part of their spring curriculum.

The Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust website will answer your questions:
http://www.arc-trust.org/
On the subject of spawn this is their advice:
'We do not advise that you attempt to move amphibians or their spawn away from your pond at this time of year: by taking them to a different pond you may unwittingly transfer various diseases and invasive plants. Also, many amphibians may try to return and they will suffer if placed in an unsuitable area. Do not release spawn, tadpoles or adult amphibians into the wild or into public water bodies such as rivers, canals reservoirs or country park/nature reserve ponds'.

Last year when the Tadpoles had matured into little froglets, my old dog was sleeping in the grass and they just climbed all over her! It was so funny to see all these tiny baby frogs all over her shaggy cream coloured fur! She wasn't worried about them at all.
My daughter and I had to sit next to her carefully picking the froglets off one at a time.
