Where can we go with our sledges?
- Dawn Hoskins (31st Jan 2009 - 22:44:57)
As we have been told to expect big flurries of settling snow, can we have some good suggestions for tobogganing in the area.
thanks

Weavers Down (but Old Thorns golf course probably not such a good idea), or Butser Hill?

Dawn
For years Butser Hill has been the favouite, right the way back as far as I can remember. We took our kids there when we had good snow falls and it is a perfect hill being the right length and slope. Hope you enjoy it soon.

Hi Dawn
Only just logged on and saw your question, maybe a bit late now all appears to be defrosting... but the gang has gone to the Golf Club at Hindhead, near to Beacon Hill, apparently they open up a section and allow the general public to have fun when it snows..so I'm told (!).. but if you drive through Churt way, you can actually see the people all over the place having fun, so I know it's allowed. Today they have taken an inner tube from a tractor....do they ever grow up? - I hope not! yeee haaaaa.....

Spend a fab afternoon at Butser Hill. Well I think that is what it is (drive into Queen Elisabeth Country Park and walk under the bridge).
We went right to the very top!!
Thank goodness for waterproof trousers.
We are all absolutely knackered now as the going down is easy - but the going back up it painfull......
Hot chocolate all round

Ah
another top spot for sledging
top tip a friend gave to us and we tested it today - fab
just past Alton on the way to Odion there is a layby for parking and just there you hop over the fence to a lovely hill - perfect
and we managed to loose our car keys in the snow and youngsters there helped us find it
least we could do was give them a £5 reward
great fun for our 3 year old
May :)
