Carpenter/handyman
- Marian Camilleri (31st Jan 2009 - 12:18:19)

Does anyone know/can recommend a good handyman or carpenter who would be able to fit a garden gate for me. If possible I would prefer someone local who tells me exactly what the cost will be. I have been stung in the past when a builder gave me an estimate and then presented me with a bill for twice the original sum without discussing this with me at all beforehand. Not a pleasant experience.

I know a man who can. He is fitting our kitchen at the moment and he is a perfectionist who will build /make anything from scratch and have it look like a shop bought expensive item. I will ask him about his gate making or fitting skills and I am sure he would be able to help. His costs are very reasonable as well and I know he would not con you. I will get back to you after Monday.

Kind regards
Barry

A while back two names were mentioned on this website, I kept a note of them (just in case) but haven't used either of them so I can't vouch for them. A friend used the second, Mr Cooper, and spoke highly of him.

The names and numbers are: Bob Lane on 725324, and Roger Cooper (who trades as Three Counties Handyman) on 727812.

Thanks for your replies. I will certainly give Mr Cooper a bell and look forward to hearing if your chap is able, Barry. Thanks

Just had my garden gate made and fitted by Roger Cooper who was friendly, did a great job and didn't cost a fortune. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a very able handyman.
