Repairs to audio system and updating equipment - GMW (25th Mar 2014 - 21:23:23) Does anyone know someone who is not too expensive who would have a look at our audio system which was put in with a widescreen tv 8 years ago, we have a slight problem. I would also like to instal something not too expensive to use with spotify. You can tell I'm a newbie!

This works "out of the box" with iTunes but for Spotify I use https://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/windows/ to connect to the Airport. Together they cost about £90 which is less than half the cost of a Sonos streamer.

Re: Repairs to audio system and updating equipment - GMW (27th Mar 2014 - 20:02:18) Thanks for that, sounds as if you know what you're talking about, although I'm struggling to follow you. On my TV surround system I used to be able to choose aux or optical. Now I can' t get optical, whatever that is, and the sound is a little indistinct on some programmes. I really want to gat a separate sound system for music, and really need someone whose job is setting up these things, perhaps working in his spare time. If anyone knows of someone who understands these things I'd really appreciate a recommendation.
