FAO Local Pub Landlords/Managers
- Eneida Nelson (15th Jan 2009 - 12:43:42)

I believe some of you post on this forum from time to time, so I would appreciate your views/policies on the following...

In an attempt to give up smoking I've started using E-Cigarettes. These are completely legal as regards the Smoking Health Act Ban as no tobacco or any other substance that can be lit is involved.

I must say though, that the latest version I've bought looks very realistic indeed and even produces a fine water vapour that looks just like 'smoke', the end also lights up....so from a distance could upset non-smokers of a particularly sensitive disposition!!

I just want to know really if you allow them or if I'm likely to have a bucket of water thrown over me.....

Eneida

[editor - they do look VERY realistic and likely to cause concern, see youtube.com/watch...

Eneida,
As one who quit many years ago I feel able to advise you that cigarette substitutes can only be a crutch to lean on for a limited time and will inevitably lead you back to the weed itself
No, what you must do is find an alternative interest to occupy your time and distract your cravings. Something you can do in the comfort of your own home would be ideal. Howabout, for instance, taking up kick boxing. I'm sure that Mr. Nelson would be sufficiently supportive to not worry about accumulating a bruise or two if it helped you in your struggle!
Bog-snorkelling is an increasingly popular outdoor activity with much opportunity to practise it in and around our locale, but not necessarily the best time of year to get started.
Alternatively, think long term and consider that the amount of money you will save by abstaining will add up to enough in no time to allow you to consider buying your own pub, and then you can do what you like and sod the rest!!
Good luck, Eneida, easy it isn't.
