Urban homes
- Sue w (1st Jan 2009 - 19:54:46)

Does any body know what has happened to Urban homes?

I understand that they are now displaying items in the Coffee Shop, but does that mean the shop is closed or has anyone tried to vandalise the windows?

What ever, it does look depressing!!

Hello,

Urban Home has not closed it was merged with no 26 in October this was due to a busy work load with outside contracts it was becoming very difficult to manage two shops.

We reopen No26 on Monday 5th Jan 09 with the one big sale (urban home) starting on the 9th of Jan with up to 75 % off selected items.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for there support and wish you all a great 2009.

Best wishes,

No26 x

So I presume that the windows have been boarded up - because the shop is now vacant?

Is this a sign of the times that to protect property, we now have to board it up!

The old carpet baggers in Station Road has boards up - but that was because vandals smashed the windows on a night when other shops were attacked too!.

What does this say about the area??

I am given to understand that insurance companies are now insisting that empty or non trading commercial premises have to be boarded up to avoid vandalism (see Carpetbaggers in Station Road), or worse, unauthorised occupation.

With the number of retailers going into administration, and heaven knows how many more in the near future, our streets and shopping precincts are starting to look like a mouthful of bad teeth which will inevitably impact on those shops still trying to make a living.
