Looking for a Job Opportunity - Megan (5th Mar 2014 - 10:58:02) Hi, I thought that I would put something on here in case anyone knows of any local jobs in the area. I am looking for a full time position that will enable me to gain experience in the workplace environment and expand my current skill set. Profile: I am a highly accomplished team- worker, effective communicator and a quick learner with a vast knowledge of horse care and management. Regarded by peers as a high achiever who shows great enthusiasm and pride in my work. A combination of great work ethic, attention to detail and excellent communication skills would make me an asset to any company. Relevant Skills: •Organisation- Good time keeping and deadline management. •Strong communication skills – Successfully iterating with cliental on a professional level. •Computer literate- Extensive experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Photoshop, together with Facebook, Twitter and Skype. •Not afraid to take on a new project which would involve learning new skills. Re: Looking for a Job Opportunity - Jane (5th Mar 2014 - 18:55:55) Hi Megan Well done on showing some initiative and posting on here. I can't offer you a job I'm afraid but can offer some advice for what it's worth. Employers love a CV that stands out from the crowd and also love someone who does show some initiative and clearly you are prepared to do this. What I would suggest you could do whilst job hunting is to do some voluntary work ie a charity shop working a few hours a week, or a local charity. This will give you some invaluable experience and looks great on a CV. I did spot the Liphook Care shop in Station Road are currently looking for volunteers for a few hours a week. Also, have you considered an apprenticeship? I managed a young lad who did an apprenticeship in Business Administration and he gained so much from it and also earnt some money along the way. It's only a commitment for a year (minimum) but the experience you gain is invaluable. Good luck with your search! Jane

I have a c.v which I have also been handing out in the local area as well as completing many application forms (fingers crossed)! I wouldn't rule out an apprenticeship at all and in fact have been looking into this also. Hopefully my determination will pay off soon.
