Parish Plan Updated - Trevor Maroney (3rd Mar 2014 - 20:43:53) The Parish Plan has now been audited and updated. The latest versions of each section is on the Reports page at www.liphookplan.co.uk. The Steering Group is now combining forces with the Audit Team and will consider the community's recommendations, drawn from the conclusions to each section, at their next meeting.

How will the plan help us to stop the raft of applications that are being rushed through at the moment that do not bear any resemblance to proper planning but are more a free-for-all? The Parish Plan obviously aims to prevent over-development but current applications are overwhelming us. Thanks for advising.

Re: Parish Plan Updated - dawn (8th Mar 2014 - 14:55:01) Any person can make a planning application at any time for any piece of land. They don't even have to own the land.Having a parish plan or a local plan will not prevent people from putting in planning applications. It can assist the local councils in determining strength of local feeling for / against things. It will be taken into account when making decisions, but only to an extent. If central government is still saying we need x-hundred houses in the area then local opinion won't count for much. If we are up to our quota already (as far as central government are concerned) then it will be a very worthwhile document to aid refusal for large scale over-development.

Additional pages have been included at the back for your comments. These will be collected weekly. Would you please let friends, family and neighbours, who may not have access to a computer, know? Thank you. Please note that some sections are still being worked on and other require fresh volunteers to complete.
