Our 4 - 5 year old Samsung TV seems to have given up. Appears to be no signal just 'white noise' - its not the aerial or booster as our other TV works fine in its place. Can anyone recommend a good TV repairer?
[editor]Hi Liz, silly question, it is a Freeview TV I assume ? If so, you would not get 'white noise' on screen - just black. If it is Freeview, make sure that you have not accidentally switched to the old analogue tuner, which has no signal to receive any more.[/editor]

Many thanks for the reply. The TV has Freeview built in. Screen is 'static' - the sort of white and black bits you get when you try and retune. The 'other half' has tried a manual retune and that didn't work. Probably have done something silly but can't work out what!
[editor]I really suspect you just need to press another button on the remote to switch from Analogue TV to Digital TV. Is there a 'source' button or one marked TV ?[/editor]

It seems I must have pressed a wrong button somewhere. Using the 'TV' button and then another option after that (apparently) has sorted things out - exactly as the Editor suggested. I am very clumsy with these sort of things so very surprised I haven't come across this problem before! Many, many thanks to the Editor for some very helpful advice.

Can anyone recommend an alternative to paying Sky £65 for a call out charge to check why we are getting no TV signal?
