Important Front Page News ....
- Finchie (5th Dec 2008 - 18:22:25)

... Liphook Herald today (Front Page Bottom Left)

Dick & Mary missed their table tennis in Petersfield this week. From the secretary of the table tennis club "I got an email from Mary, who is the group's treasurer, that they would not make the table tennis on Tuesday, as they were stuck in Bangkok"

Ha - I love living in a village ! This has made my weekend. If this is all we have to report on the front page in these troubled times - life is pretty good !

It's beer o'clock, so I'm signing off, wishing you all a Good Weekend, and hoping Dick and Mary get back in time for their next table tennis session at the Taro :-)

Cheers, Finchie

Finchie,
Spot on mate, sums up my opinion of the Herald.
The question missing here is, did they send out an eager reporter to scoop details of this catastrophy?, or
did someone ring in on the red phone, the palm trees went back, the swimming pool retracted and the full might of the Herald media was launched into action.
Heaven help us if Dick & Mary get home and find someone has squashed their best ball, I'll get a copy of the Times next week to check.

Puts everything else into perspective....

Good job I wasn't in Bangkok during the campaign...?

I would have missed the tooings and froings?

Steve,
Don't be too hard on the Herald; the story obviously must have been mentioned on a post here first!

Allan,
Correct my friend I forgot all about that, right own up who posted it! lol.

Gutted - got the Herald today and absolutely no update on whether Dick and Mary made their table tennis this week.

Any updates anyone ?

Cheers, Finchie

Mary & Dick were both back on tuesday playing table tennis and badminton and as I understand it really enjoyed their extended holiday in Bangkok. Also very suprised they made front page news.

Thanks for the update. I will now enjoy my turkey even more - knowing that Dick and Mary returned safely and made their next table tennis session.

HOWEVER, I am disappointed that the Herald do not see a story through to conclusion. Typical modern day journalism - sensationalism !

Dick & Mary - we will meet one day and I will buy you both a drink for bringing a smile to my face.

All the best - FinchPr
