Lost Dog from Old Thorns Area
- Ryan (3rd Feb 2014 - 19:44:12)
At about 18:30 on the night of Monday 3rd February, a dog was seen sprinting down the driveway of Old Thorns heading towards Longmoor Road past The Deer's Hut.
It was very dark at this point, but the dog appeared to resemble a Pointer / Dalmatian and was white with dark (black/brown) patches.
Another individual who later saw the dog from their car said they saw it heading down The Avenue in Liphook.
This post is for anyone who may own/knows of a person who has a dog matching this description from that area.
Hopefully the dog will be returned to it's owner before too long.

I walked my dog at the deers hut at 4.30 and there was a man with a pointer. The dog belonged to his daughter and, having had a long walk, was refusing to be caught to go back to the car. When I had finished my walk, the daughter had joined them and they were both trying to catch the dog who was running around playfully, but refusing to go to either of them. I gave them a handfull of dog treats to see if that could help. I suspect they may have had to give up and hope the dog would see sense and make its own way home. It was a lovely dog, but obviously rather mischievous!!! I hope it got home safely.

Many thanks for your concern.
It was my dog who was lost over Weavers Down. Have moved in with family in The Avenue on Saturday so she had become unsettled and ran off on a walk.
We had to give up searching for her and came home for something to eat and to get warm, before intending to go and look again. Surprise surprise! not long after we arrived home there was scratching at the door and there she was looking very sheepish and pleased to be home. Cannot believe she found her way here, instead of the other side of Liphook where I used to live.
Thanks again for your concern - .Thankfully nobody was hurt.

thankful this has a happy ending I was dog walker for a pointer who did the same and thankfully she found her way home too but it is scary when one considers busy roads. This site is wonderful for things like dogs that go missing.
