Old Thorns - Anthony (31st Jan 2014 - 18:44:48) I hear rumours to the effect that Old Thorns has been,or is about to be,sold to the Chinese and that the owner has departed. Can anyone confirm this and how might it affect the golf course application ?r

Re: Old Thorns - SMc (31st Jan 2014 - 21:02:28) Its rubbish. Rumour factory getting it wrong again. They are introducing the Chinese to our way of golf and spas. Some very powerful and influential men but not here to stay. Had coffee with the owners partner yesterday.

Re: Old Thorns - Anthony (5th Mar 2014 - 16:38:39) On 31st Jan I reported a rumour that Old thorns was about to be taken over by the Chinese. SMc responded that this was rubbish. Would he like to confirm that he still thinks it's rubbish. I don't think it is.

Re: Old Thorns - Editor (19th Aug 2014 - 11:20:15) I see (from Weavers Down thread) that Old Thorns does now have a pair of new directors - since 8th April 2014. Mr Yew Kiat Phang (Singaporean) and Mr Zhenxin Zhang (Chinese) They are both directors of Old Thorns Golf Hotel and Country Estate Limited and Old Thorns Golf Hotel and Country Estate (Holdings) Limited along with Mr Martin David Shaw.
