slippery leaves
- Dawn Hoskins (17th Nov 2008 - 09:04:10)

Who do we call to ask them to remove the slippery leaves from pavements?

Thanks in advance – I’m sure one of you will know!!

Nearly broke my blinking ankle skidding on leaves walking back from Passfield stores, and I also notice that grass / vegetation is starting to grow up through the new pavement leading to the bus stop!

Tell me about it.

Walking the dog yesterday, went base over apex on the slope into Radford Park from Malthouse Meadows.

All I can say is good luck and keep calling them as otherwise you will not be blessed with their presence!!

Dawn,
If you lived from Gunns Farm upto South Rd that pavement gets done every other week.
New street lighting installed (same stretch), levelling out of kerbing (2 men, machine & traffic lights) same stretch.
All overhanging branches cut back every year over the pavements, same stretch.
Last year for the first time in 20 years we had the chappie up the road putting down weed killer along the kerbs and pavement. He told me he had to return and go back over an area he had only done the week before on instructions from the office because a certain County Councillor lives along there and he inspects it on his way into work every morning.
Do you want to guess where that stretch could be.
No problems up there with leaves, lighting or nasty steps off the pavement or the risk of the odd twig in your hair.
Its a good job that this stretch of road and pavement do not go head to head with the marvellous Liphook In Bloom Team because they wouldn't stand a chance.

I'll call EHDC and find out.

Have just spoken to a nice lady at EHDC. She has to look into it to see if it is their responsibility or Hampshire County Council.

It has been logged though – so maybe something can be done.

Try hantsweb ....The Hampshire County Council web site, it works every time. I report all the bad potholes I come across and they are repaired within 24 hours.
