Christmas HUMBUG! - Disgusted and upset (26th Dec 2013 - 10:32:27)
Who let off fireworks at 7pm last night Christmas Day!!
How disgusting and disrespectful to the meaning of Christmas!!
Enjoying a peaceful day and relaxing time and suddenly many bangs and whooshes from somewhere on the Headley road opposite Tunbridge Crescent.

You miserable so and so. I live just around the corner from where the fireworks were let off and they only lasted no more than 10 minutes. We also had a note delivered beforehand letting us know as well and I really do not think this very small display was that disruptive. And surely Christmas is a celebration that can be enjoyed in other ways than just sitting in front of the telly.

We too heard the fireworks! But thought it was someone celebrating Christmas, a season of joy and happiness! Really can't quite understand what the problem can be?

i am not keen on fireworks but thats because i uesd to have a dog that was terrified of them.
but it was not late at night so cant see why some people are moaning. lots of people have them at christmas and new year.
just think about those poor people who have had no electric and so could not have a proper cooked christmas lunch.
thats something to moan about.

Well I will put my full name here and you can 'bah humbug' me all you like but I'm fed up with people letting fireworks off at random times without warning. People with animals will know how distressing it can be for them. On New Years Eve I was planning to shut my cats in and turn up the radio at around 10pm ready for any fireworks that might go off at midnight - when lo and behold - someone lets off a ruddy great banger at 7pm. The dog was terrified, the cats scattered. Why would you do that? What's to celebrate at 7pm on new years eve? I didn't hear any on Christmas Day but if I had I would have been equally annoyed at my animals being needlessly frightened and distressed. Have some consideration for other people even if you don't care about animals yourself.

obviously you are new to the area as the army ranges operate most days sometimes at night with helicopters aswell so your animals cant be used to the noise.

I've lived in Liphook 34 years. The muffled thud thud thud of the ranges is nothing like the almighty bangs that suddenly appear from nowhere terrifying livestock, wildlife and family pets.
