Carnival success! - Helen (26th Oct 2008 - 09:57:55)
Just thought that I would congratulate and thank all the hard-working people involved with another successful carnival. The fireworks and floats were brilliant! The children as ever LOVED every minute. I have been to the last 29 carnivals myself and still get the same buzz as I did when I was little!!
[editor - pictures from the event will be put on the site Monday morning]

Yet again - absolutely fantastic. Congrats to all who put the time and effort in. Every time I see it I think "I must get together a float next year". Great opportunity to "dress up" ;-)
Cheers, Finchie (Finchette at the weekend)
PS - Ed - you can't make me post my real name - my wife might find out

Congratulations to Karen and her team for organising such an enjoyable Liphook Carnival. It was obvious that a lot of time and effort had gone in to the planning, preparation and implementation both by the organisers and those taking part.
This was the first time we have seen the Carnival and we were very impressed with the standard of the floats. We were honoured and enjoyed hosting the Winners of the Trade Category - Inscape Plumbing with Abba Waterloo at the Gurkha Chautari for their celebratory meal.
Thanks to Karen and her team for giving up their time to organise such an enjoyable evening. Well Done!

I can't agree more
since our move to Liphook we have had a house/garden party because we are on the carnival route
all our friends and children love it - thank you

Our hosts at the Ghurka supplied a lovely meal as usual to round off our fun day of float building and carnival participation. And yes as ever the commitee and the scouts did a wonderful job of clearing up after a good nights entertainment.

The carnival was brilliant but very dissappointed again not to see any photos of the childrens section in the afternoon. Dosen,t anyone care about the childrens feelings they too put as much effort in as everyone else.
Also I would like to point out that the general feeling is that a parade of all the childrens fancy dress not just the winners would be nice so that all the costumes can be seen not just the different ages tucked into each corner.
[editor - if anyone has any pictures, please email them to me and I'll add them to the site]
Re: Carnival success! - gary (1st Nov 2008 - 20:41:54)
There where 4 pages of pictures in the Herald this week quite a few of the childrens event.
When I was younger the youngster joined in the main carnival ???
That seems to have gone away ??? I wonder why ?
Excellent job by the carnival committe for another Liphook succes.
Would anyone happen to have any pics of the Soldier Magazine Van/Minis? There dont seem to be any on the site and I'd love to show some to my little boy (who couldn't come along and take part on the night) and show him what his mummy got up to with her Family and friends....
Thank you for a fab night and our trophy - It really was a lovely suprise and mum proudly took it in to show off at work!
Though the Heralds did have us down as Mini Coopers when not one was a Cooper! And where did 'Sweeps' Soldier Magazine come from as we were listed!? Lol!
