rural thefts
- carole (2nd Dec 2013 - 12:42:15)

if anyone knows who is stealing horse food, and horse related items please contact the local police. I`m fed up with being raided twice in a fortnight. last night some rotten person took all my horse and sheep feed, wormers, and some hay, I work hard to keep my animals , if people can`t afford to feed their horses they shouldn`t have them.

so maddening , animals cost us a fortune to keep without this!
I can only suggest that you decant foodstuffs into large bins as they cannot be easily taken away and sold on ebay. If you have to leave it in bags write all over them in permanent marker so if thieves try to move it on via markets or ebay people will see that it is re sale and not from wholesaler. Mark any items you can such as brushes etcin the same way (doesn't look pretty defacing your property but reduces its value to thieves)
And high value tack just cannot be left anywhere unfortunately (friends of ours had two bridles stolen from the box at a show!!)

you could also consider a blank cctv camera as a deterent

and finally .... trade your horse in for one like Mr Ed (that way he can tell you who's been snooping around :):)
