EE Mobile coverage
- Vic (29th Nov 2013 - 21:29:32)
Just wondering if anyone's with EE for their mobile and if so, what the coverage is actually like.
Thx

Not at all good in my home - but ok most places outdoors. I frequently get no signal or only one bar in my house, and quite often calls drop out.
There was no problem at all before Orange joined with T-mobile - it went downhill from there. No improvement even when I got a phone with wifi signal boost.

Same for me too. I get limited signal or it drops out frequently. Outside Liphook it seems fine.
Has the service declined deliberately so you sign up to 4G?
Call me a sceptic......

I have a 4G plan with EE Rob and trust me it is useless in Iiphook. Lucky if you get 3G here!

Thanks for your replies. Their coverage map suggested that they'd be better than other operators but it sounds like they're all as bad as each other!

Just to mention that the two Heathers on this thread are different people.
Personal note for the other Heather (hoping you will see this): -
I don\'t contribute often, but occasionally friends and family have assumed that your posts are written by me. and maybe the same could happen to you. Not that I have ever disagreed with anything you have said, and you sound to be a nice person, so I\'m not too worried, but it would be useful if we could agree on a way to identify ourselves to avoid future confusion.
Would you be happy to post as Heather1 and I will be Heather2? Or second initials, mine is B, or any other identifier of your choice?
Editor: If you are happy to do so, I am happy for you to pass my email address to the other Heather rather than us having a one to one discussion on the forum!

I have an ee phone and signal on EE is [poor], I have been given a ten pounds a month discount due to the poor signal.
I am never going going with ee after the contract ends and am telling them what I think of their poor service.

hi,
There are 7 Orange and T-Mobile towers in and around Liphook and the A3, of these 2 at most 3 offer 3G capability and the rest are 2G. One of the 2G towers is big and sits over by Old Thorns and covers a wide range and is about the only one that gives indoor signal. Of the 3G towers, there is one on the A3 that's great if you're driving, there is another one in the centre of the village which is not bad but only has finite capacity - so no real video support.
EE are rationalising the towers and that means there will be a lack of coverage as they upgrade to 3G and eventually (end 2014) to 4G.
Has anyone tried using an EE Signal Box on broadband to give indoor 3G coverage?
Peter

We had EE and it never worked in the house. We changed to vodaphone and haven\'t had a problem.

We live near Bohunt school. Full, strong 3G coverage. So not all bad!

I'm not on EE, But I am on 02 and it is probably the best for signal in Liphook :) I always have full bars.

What a shambles this company are.
My signal has been low or non-existent for some time and have received some compensation. No promise of improvement in service though.
Their suggestion that it could be the Sim card meant I asked for a new one to be sent.
Doesn't sound too bad does it?
The sting in the tail is that my existing Sim card is immediately cancelled until the new one arrives! Whenever that will be.
One useless phone. You couldn't make it up.
