Liphook need key ingredient for recipe for success
- Henry Ascoli (28th Nov 2013 - 21:26:06)

Hampshire Premier League match preview
Liphook United v Hedge End Rangers

EAGER to bounce back from a demoralising away defeat, Liphook United must rediscover the key ingredient to their recent success to triumph over Hedge End Rangers, writes Henry Ascoli.
A fine run of form allowed United to top the table ahead of last week’s clash of the titans against reigning champions Locks Heath, but a 5-0 thumping brought the boys in blue back down to earth with a bump.
Despite being buried in the bottom half of the HPFL table, Rangers take to the road on a high, having outpointed high-flying Clanfield 2-1 to pick up a vital victory on home turf last weekend.
Liphook striker Steve Harding hopes the return of two key players will help the hosts to success on Saturday: “We’re all looking forward to another big home game after a great midweek training session. Everyone wants to put in a strong performance, and we have a bonus this week with Dan [Harding] and Ryan [Angear] back in the team.”
United assistant manager Pete Oliver expects Rangers to arrive full of confidence and ready for a rugged clash: “Hedge End have always give us good physical battles since they joined this league, and this weekend we’re expecting no different. They will be looking to build from their superb result against Clanfield, so we will need to be on the top of our game to take three points.”
