Liphook Social Club
- Dee McGrath (22nd Oct 2008 - 14:40:07)

Hi
We want to wish the Liphook Carnival every success for Saturday. Look out for the Liphook Social Club Float.
We will be open so if you feel like calling in for a drink and a chat come on in. We welcome families.

Here's to a great carnival and a rain free night.
Dave

Dee

Can I ask what time the club is open on Saturday?

We work until 4, and its not worth going home, trying to park again later - it may be just the place to spend a little waiting time!

Hello Uncle Bobby!

Will come down and see you on your float on Saturday (are you on the float!?)

George is also on a float and would love to see you...

Kx

Hi Sue
We will be open all day this Saturday so feel free to pop in at any time.

Karen

Unfortunately 'Uncle Bobby' is not about, but let me know which float George is on and I will pop along and put some pennies in his tin. Good Luck. x

Is the social club a non smoking environment?
thank you

Hi Dawn

Yes of course and its been decorated inside since the smoking ban so no more nasty wiffs! There is a smoking area outside. Why dont you call in and see what there is on offer i.e. pool table, full size snooker table, darts, quiz nights, entertainment on Saturdays, also we have connect 4, cards and dominos for the younger generation.
Hope to see you
Regards
Dee

Bit of a daft question really, especially as there has been a smoking ban in public places for some time!LOL The Social Club may have been forgotten or not noticed by some people but it is still there and a public place!!LOL
Have a great Carnival night everyone where ever you spend it!

Christi

I think that the social club is a members only one LOL

Therefore it is not generally open to the Public. LOL

They do often have 'open' days - which we attended, and hope to collect our cards today

Have a great day

[editor - just to clarify ...

Does smokefree legislation apply to private clubs such as working men's clubs and sports clubs?

Yes - from 1st July 2007 all enclosed and substantially enclosed premises which are workplaces or to which the public have access will be required to be smokefree - this includes private members clubs such as working men's clubs and sports and social clubs. It will be an offence not to comply with the requirements of the legislation.]

Just to clarify:

My response was not about smoking in a private club - I for one understood that smoking was not permitted - but was making the point that the club was not a public
place - where any one can attend 'off the street', but members only.

Sorry if it added to confusion.
