Liphook Social Club - Dee McGrath (22nd Oct 2008 - 14:40:07) Hi We want to wish the Liphook Carnival every success for Saturday. Look out for the Liphook Social Club Float. We will be open so if you feel like calling in for a drink and a chat come on in. We welcome families. Here's to a great carnival and a rain free night. Dave

Why dont you call in and see what there is on offer i.e. pool table, full size snooker table, darts, quiz nights, entertainment on Saturdays, also we have connect 4, cards and dominos for the younger generation. LOL They do often have 'open' days - which we attended, and hope to collect our cards today Have a great day [editor - just to clarify ... Does smokefree legislation apply to private clubs such as working men's clubs and sports clubs? Yes - from 1st July 2007 all enclosed and substantially enclosed premises which are workplaces or to which the public have access will be required to be smokefree - this includes private members clubs such as working men's clubs and sports and social clubs. It will be an offence not to comply with the requirements of the legislation.]

Re: Liphook Social Club - Sue W (26th Oct 2008 - 12:20:09) Just to clarify: My response was not about smoking in a private club - I for one understood that smoking was not permitted - but was making the point that the club was not a public place - where any one can attend 'off the street', but members only. Sorry if it added to confusion.
