A Canadian visitor to Liphook and Greyshott
- Rob Bulloch (21st Oct 2008 - 03:47:21)

I am from Richmond British Columbia Canada. I visited the. Liphook, Bramshott and Greyshott area in September of this year. The reason for my visit was to pay my respects to the Canadian Soldiers of the Great War that did not make it home, and to visit their final resting place. I visited St Mary's and St Joseph's, Both very well looked after, and a credit to whoever it is that looks after these area's.
I would also like to say a special thanks to the taxi driver that gave me the guided tour around the churchyards and did not put on his meter. The only name I got from him was Chris.
Thanks very much for your help with my visit.

Regards Rob Bulloch.

Thank you for visiting the area. I believe that the military grave sites at Grayshott and Bramshott are the resposibility of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and as such they are always kept in immaculate condition.

I hope you were able to visit the Ministry of Defence land north of Liphook called Ontario which was the site of one of several World War 1 barracks occupied by Canadian soldiers en route to and from the Western Front. The memorial avenue of maple trees starts on this land.

Sadly Paul. I did not see the area you mentioned due to time constraints. But! I will visit the area the next time I am over, I would also love to see inside St Mary's Church. Thanks for posting.
Cheers Rob.
