Use it or lose it!
- jill (21st Nov 2013 - 12:24:51)
The Chase Hospital in Bordon has a Restaurant which is open to the Public.
Since the closure of the Chase Beds the amount of customers visiting the Restaurant has severely diminished. I visited it last week and had Freshly cooked Fish, Chips and Peas for £3.25. They also sell Jacket potatoes, sandwiches and cooked breakfast, cakes and cold desserts.
I asked the chef if he had any hot desserts, they usually have something like Treacle sponge and custard, but he told me for the last two weeks he has prepared five desserts each day and none of them have sold, he has had to throw them away, so now he will not cook them.
So please, please visit this restaurant, it is open 9.30am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday and is excellent value for money, there is free parking.
Some of the staff have worked there for 20 years and they don't want to lose their jobs.
I don't know where you could get a cheaper meal locally.

I go in here every Tuesday with my little cousin. Trevor is lovely, he cooks as you order and does a brilliant cheesey chips!! Big enough portions too!! The menu looks pretty good, but we are the only 2 in there, except for a couple of staff members.
I'm sure it will close soon enough!!

Well, you learn something new every day!
I have lived here for 27 years and never knew this restaurant existed!

This is great facility. Pass this on to people you know. It is an opportunity for people, particularly the elderly, to have a reasonably priced, freshly cooked meal and enjoy the company of others.
