League leaders Liphook prepare for clash of the titans
- Henry Ascoli (20th Nov 2013 - 22:02:34)

Hampshire Premier League match preview
Locks Heath v Liphook United

ANOTHER mouth-watering contest is on the cards as top of the table Liphook United do battle with reigning league champions Locks Heath this Saturday (November 23), writes Henry Ascoli.
United take to the road aiming to achieve back-to-back away league victories and keen to maintain their recent momentum, which has seen the side soar to the league summit once again.
Despite a strong start to the season, Locks Heath lie seventh in the table, but take to the field confident and composed on the back of a 3-2 triumph over Otterbourne and a hard-earned point at Fleetlands.
Striker Steve Harding bagged a brace as Liphook ran out 4-0 winners at Otterbourne last weekend, but believes the visitors will need to step up a gear to earn a positive result at Locks Heath.
“This will be a tough test for us – Locks Heath are a good team and well organised,” Steve explains.
“But I think we will be able to get something out of the game. The lads have had a great attitude over the last three games and working hard to put the team first. We must make ourselves difficult to beat and believe in our attacking players to produce the goals.”
Liphook assistant manager Pete Oliver also recognises the need to rise to the challenge: “This weekend will be a true test of whether or not we can make it as a top four side.
“We will still approach this game in the same fashion as we have the last couple of weeks – we must be disciplined and focused.”
