Local Artists?
- New Family (19th Nov 2013 - 07:23:50)
Are there any local galleries or exhibitions where local artists might exhibit their work?
We're looking for a local landscape painting for our house. Have heard of a local lady called Anne Bowen but Google couldn't bring up any information.
Thank you.

You could try the Art Shop in Headley Road, Liphook, they regularly have exhibitions of local artist's work and I am sure that they would be able to give you some contacts.
Failing that you could try The Selborne Gallery, opposite Gilbert White's House, The Wakes. We bought a lovely watercolour of Butser Hill from there.

Try visiting the Art Work gallery/shop on the Headley Road (next to the Fish & Chip shop)...I believe they could help you find paintings by local artists :)

Check out No Naked Walls Gallery at www.nonakedwalls.co.uk
They have two galleries which exhibit and show work including SDNP landscapes.
The website is very informative and useful to see the type of work, saves a trip to the gallery until your sure of what you want.
They allow you to borrow work for a period of two week to make sure it fits in to your house/decoration etc.
Another option is to take a painting class that NoNakedWalls offer. You could then have your own work on your wall..

The Surrey Artists Open Studios for Christmas will be starting soon. Local artists exhibit in their homes/studios around Surrey and Hampshire. You might find a local landscape painter there.

Try the Bramshott and Liphook Arts and Crafts group, their details are found here on the Liphook website.

I'm not a member but I've assisted in lighting their exhibition for the past couple of years and therefore seen a lot of their work.
We have a lot of local talented artists in the area
