Unsocial Behavior - Russ Ellis (13th Oct 2008 - 20:22:21)
If anyone is as concerned as we are about the anti social behavior on the last two saturday nights/sunday mornings in the village you must go and register your concerns with the local police who are holding there regular surgery meeting outside Sainsbury's this wednesday 15th Oct at 12am.
The more people that attend the more chance we have of getting better policing in Liphook. If you can not make it at that time these surgery's take place on the second Tuesday and fourth Saturday of each month at Sainsbury's. The timings are available on the police web site.

"Beat surgeries
The beat surgeries are held at Sainsburys on the second Tuesday between 7pm and 8pm and the fourth Saturday between 11am and 12 pm, of each month.
If you wish to speak to a local officer to discuss any matter, please come along and have a chat. If we don't know your problems we aren't always able to help you with it.
We hope to see you there!"

I'll be waiting in the queue tomorrow night!
We're getting fed up with boy racers using Lynchborough Road at 1 am as a speedway circuit then showing off handbrake turns and "doughnutting" in the business centre car park!
Another sleepless night last night and having just packed the children off to school with more bags than sainsburys under their eyes I've had enough!!

Loving the work of the Liphook ASBO puppy on the green this morning - very clever! Thought the Parish council took a novel approach to clearing it up by mowing through it and turning it into confetti!?

Hi, Are there any more of these meeting being held? I found myself caught up in an incident coming off the train in Liphook on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago. A young lad was being very rude and mouthy towards us and without thinking I turned around and asked him to explain his rudeness - instead his abuse worsened and he started to make a number of threats. Luckily he was held back by a group of people he was with to wait for the bus on to Bordon but it has really shaken me up. It may of been stupid of me to ask him what his problem was when i should have kept walking and ignoring him but i'm not used to getting such abuse for no reason!

Does no one else find it ridiculous that a village (used loosely to mean small town) is granted 2 hours a month of [police] 'surgery time' when what is really needed is an available police presence 24/7. We need local police , with local knowledge engaging on a daily basis with the community.
Having grown up in a police house as the daughter of the village bobby i saw first hand the value and appreciation of real community policing.

I couldn't agree more Claire!
I tried to go to a "Police surgery" a couple of months ago. Problem being even the police didn't turn up!!! So I dont hold out much hope!!
