Oh Dear! - Steve Read (29th Sep 2008 - 19:09:10) Just wondering after years of running a business if anybody can help. I've been rather silly and carrying out work for companies and individuals who I knew had no chance or inclination to pay me for the said work. No worries I said to them, we will still continue to do even more work for you all and why we are about it let all your friends know that we will do theirs as well, no problem. We do not mind in the slightest getting ourselves further in debt just so long as you all get what you want for the price you want, if you can afford it or even if you can't, no worries come on down. For this rather radical business plan and running our business at a total loss incurring more debt everyday we shall then pay ourselves huge obscene salaries plus our end of year bonus. Be honest we deserve all this for our services to you all, for our judgement, business acumen, forward thinking, planning and good old common sense. Then, when the balloon goes pop I still have no need to worry about all the money I owe for my troubles because I can knock on everybody's door and ask for a contribution to bail me out, plus please don't forget my severence bonus (Nice & Big Please) for services rendered. Now can someone tell me where I've gone wrong.

I am wondering if you made your bonus/reward system a little too risk dependant and perhaps employed too many seflish, arrogant wideboys to help make those nice investment decisions... I'm so happy that my pension is worth 1/4 less than it was a year ago! Thanks to all of those who allowed the practice of short-selling to continue for so long and for keeping such an important part of the UK's all important financial services industry so severely under-regulated. (Large bonus) Cheque please!
