Parents on Mobile phones
- Kennglen (28th Sep 2008 - 19:45:23)

While walking my children back from Liphook Junior School last week I was appalled to see another parent who had just picked up their children driving down Lark Rise talking on a mobile phone. The Avenue was teaming with parents and children heading home.
These are potentially bright people but don't they realise that it's a matter of time before one of OUR children will be seriously injured or killed by their shere lack of common sense. Buy a bluetooth or better still wait until they get home to make their phonecall.
Bearing in mind on a previous thread people have been talking about the dangers of Children crossing the road at Bohunt is there a way as a community we can address this issue before someone is hurt or killed.

If you see someone doing this then report them.

Make a note of the number plate and call the police. It's no worse than snitching on a drink driver as both are acts of irresponsibility that endanger pedestrians and other motorists.

I do report them but sadly the police can't do anything until they have had several "reports" about the same driver.

I live on the blind bend on Longmoor rd and not only do cars come round the corner at 60..instead of 40 as it should be, they are usually on the mobile too.

They go far to fast for me to note down the L. number so the only thing I can look forward to is being crashed into with my kids on board.. then am sure at least someone will listen...I have been in touch with our local MP who had arranged for a road sign..SLOW.. to be written but this is NOT enough we need signs similar to the ones at the start of the...AVE and yes I do realise that there are other areas desperate for better signage but at the moment I can only try and fight for where I live.

And plse dont tell me to move as was suggested recently. No Fair!!

LOL
