'LOVE TO SING' CHOIR - jennyw (4th Oct 2013 - 20:32:58) Do you love singing, but have never plucked up the courage to join a Choir? That was me a couple of years ago, when a friend persuaded me to go along to the 'Love to Sing' Choir, which is held each Wednesday evening 7.45 - 9.30 at the Methodist Church Hall, Liphook. Initially I felt quite daunted, but soon realised that no-one was judging me, but we are all encouraged and guided. Every week is fun and there's lots of laughter between songs! I have made new friends and it's wonderful to be with others who enjoy singing too. It is uplifting and I leave each week feeling happy. All this would not have happened had Vanessa Breach (our Choir Mistress) and Chris Booth (our pianist) not put their heads together. They realised there was a need for group singing without having to audition, but enabling those who love to sing to experience the joy it brings without feeling pressured. They spend many hours choosing suitable material and we now have a wide repertoire - from the Musicals to the Standards and everything else in-between - all the while integrating new songs to capture our imagination. Singing with a group can be life enhancing, as it has been for me. You can just turn up on the evening to see what it's all about - and you don't have to sing - although it will be difficult to resist! Such lovely people, such fun, and like you, I come home every Wednesday feeling on cloud nine. Thank you Vanessa & Chris - and all the friends I have made too!

Singing is certainly very good therapy and takes away all the cares of the day. Vanessa and Chris are very good at what they do but often make us laugh too. Come along and join this friendly evening.
