He does look older than he is , but he's only year 9, and surely when he's in class the teacher would know what year they were teaching.
I have asked him several times why he doesnt wear it but all he comes up with is "I just dont want to". Haven't had any complaints from school either.

When my son started in year seven (six years ago now) he wore a school jumper and was taunted mercilessly by other boys. Apparently it’s regarded as ‘girlish’ or ‘gay’ or whatever the popular insult may be. He never wore it again.
If I were you I wouldn't pursue the matter any further with your son as school can be trying enough without being ostracized!

It is quite funny really because mr strowger goes on about how important the school uniform is, I mean he even has teachers wait OUTSIDE of the school gates telling people off! To be honest i don't blame your son , the jumpers are itchy, hot and they fall apart! If bohunt is going to make pupils where uniform all year round at least find a quality that will last! I mean if they were THAT serious about uniform the girls skirts would not be as short as they are now even WITH the new skirts!

James, it is now a requirement that the lower years wear their black jumpers at all times unless they are told by a member of staff in class that they don't have to eg. when it is extremely hot. Having said that, during the hot weather my son and his friends were reprimanded by a member of staff when they were at break, outside, because they were not wearing their jumpers having been told in the classroom by a different staff member, they could remove them - apparently that didn't extend to the rest of the day and they were made to put them back on!
So, in answer to your question Wendy, no, I have no idea how your son is getting away with it - is he just putting the jumper on before he gets to the uniform spies on the way to school?
